The Vision
We are currently searching for a property within a stone’s throw of the Grand Rapids, Michigan metro area to house The Sanctuary. Our location will allow local guests to spiritually recharge on a regular basis without taking excessive time away from family and work.
We envision a park-like setting of approximately 20 acres that, once sensitively developed, will include:
- a natural landscape with trees, ponds, and gardens
- a central building to house gatherings, spiritual direction meetings, and learning opportunities
- outdoor prayer paths and other prayer spaces
- simple cabins for personal retreats
The Sanctuary will be suffused with hospitality as well as natural beauty. Our goal is for all guests to experience a deep welcome here, both from our team and from the God who loves them.
To meet each guest where they are in their spiritual journey, we will offer a wide variety of guided or self-guided opportunities for prayer, meditation, and learning. Guests will be invited to drop in and walk the prayer paths, to reserve spaces for longer periods of personal contemplation, or to be part of spiritual direction, workshops, and other learning experiences.
